How did you come up with the idea of creating CosMediTour? Why did you decide to become involved in medical tourism?<\/strong><\/p>\n The CosMediTour project was launched in 2010. However, my personal experience with medics abroad began earlier, back in 1984, when I took my mother from Australia to Mexico for alternative cancer therapy. <\/em><\/p>\n It was then, perhaps, that I first began to think that advanced medicine and its achievements should not be limited by the rigid boundaries of a single country. However, this idea is not new: it is no coincidence that there is an organization called Doctors Without Borders in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n So you decided to combine plastic surgery and tourism. Why did you choose Thailand?<\/strong><\/p>\n If you look at the map of Southeast Asia, analyze all the data on its countries, it becomes clear that among all Asian countries, Thailand is the most advanced in the field of health care and medical innovation, it has everything you need for the medical tourism market. <\/em><\/p>\n In addition to being the number one destination for those wishing to combine tourism and medical services in Asia since the early 2000s, Thailand is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n The combination of Thailand as a leading medical tourism country in Southeast Asia, with its identity, beauty, exoticism, delicious and famous Thai cuisine, open and caring people and the cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Siam has made it the ideal country where we should focus our efforts.<\/em><\/p>\n When did you decide to open your first office in Thailand?<\/strong><\/p>\n I am Australian, and I opened my first Australian customer service office in 1977. The main destinations were trips to European countries. But our first office in Thailand was opened in 2012.<\/em><\/p>\n Being in the tourism industry in Australia for many years now, we have dealt with a large flow of tourists to Thailand. And after a year of CosMediTour's Australian office, it was obvious that opening an office in Thailand was necessary. <\/em><\/p>\n It was important to us to have complete control over our medical concierges and administrative staff to serve incoming medical travelers at the appropriate level. <\/em><\/p>\n What problems did you face in the beginning when you first started your aesthetic plastic surgery project?<\/strong><\/p>\n Of course, the biggest challenge was gaining credibility. When you initially have a small number of clients, or patients to refer to in testimonials or other marketing and informational materials, it is very difficult to get serious attention and prove your credibility - this is an obvious and basic problem for any business. And we were professionally and technically prepared for this.<\/em><\/p>\n Potential medical tourism patients (the most difficult of all travel destinations, in my opinion) are always skeptical about undergoing potentially dangerous, invasive surgical procedures in another country with which they are unfamiliar. <\/em><\/p>\n Also, add the language barrier and the general perception of health and safety standards in a less developed (as they see it) country.<\/em><\/p>\n How did you manage to overcome these seemingly insurmountable barriers?<\/strong><\/p>\n \u041e! I'm not going to say that we solved all the problems \"at the snap of a finger\"! It took years of painstaking and hard work to gather a patient base that had undergone a wide range of plastic surgery procedures in Thailand that would speak for itself, and we could showcase those results on our website, social media, and our TV show \"Operation Thailand\".<\/em><\/p>\n And when did you finally realize that clients really, one might say, trust CosMediTour's reputation unconditionally and the number of plastic surgery procedures you perform has increased significantly?<\/strong><\/p>\n In the 7 years of CosMediTour's existence, we have already sent thousands of foreign patients to Thailand for plastic surgery, and the overall very positive reviews of our work and surgical results have solidified our reputation through both the Internet and personal recommendations, person to person, so to speak. <\/em><\/p>\n You probably know that in the field of aesthetic surgery, the most important thing is the personal experience of people who have already had this or that surgery. It was a reality show, and it was a huge success when it was aired on primetime television in Australia, New Zealand, and a number of other countries. <\/em><\/p>\n The clear benefits of \"Operation Thailand\" were that we showed mesmerizing results of plastic surgery combined with fascinating travels of our clients in Thailand in this television series.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n A huge amount of emotions, from tears to laughter: panic before surgery, fear before flying to an Asian country, and then unforgettable during rest and recovery in a tropical paradise. <\/em><\/p>\n I have not regretted at all that I decided to create this show, although, believe me, its creation has added more than one gray hair to me and my team. But to this day, clients who took part in the show keep in touch with us, sending us their photos.<\/em><\/p>\n Do you think this show will generate interest among Russian-speaking audiences?<\/strong><\/p>\n Of course! This TV show helps the potential patient identify key aspects and decide whether or not to have plastic surgery to improve his or her appearance and, as a result, to gain self-confidence. <\/em><\/p>\n It is a solution that has no geographic boundaries. In fact, the leading hospital network in Thailand, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services, with more than 40 hospitals, is one of the 4 largest private hospital networks in the world. In addition, almost all hospitals are certified <\/em>JCI<\/em> (Joint Commission International).<\/em><\/p>\n Let's talk about the medical institutions with which you work directly. Why do you work with them specifically?<\/strong><\/p>\n To begin with, all hospitals have a full range of all specialists, necessarily have an intensive care area, cardiology, anesthesiologists on site at all times, and so on. And, as you can imagine, private, small, free-standing plastic surgery clinics do not have access to all of these intensive care facilities - in a force majeure situation, they have no chance to provide the necessary care to a patient.<\/em><\/p>\n Nevertheless, not all hospitals in Thailand have separate departments for plastic surgery, which is also an important factor for us. We selected medical institutions based on the requirements of our key plastic surgeons, as well as compliance with our special CosMediTour protocols and the availability of specialized plastic surgery departments. <\/em><\/p>\n We work with hospitals located in Bangkok, Phuket, and now Samui. I would like to emphasize that all our hospitals are internationally accredited by JCI, which is the gold standard for private hospitals worldwide.<\/em><\/p>\n What do other medtourism and plastic surgery agencies prefer to keep quiet about, and what are you talking about?<\/strong><\/p>\n There are literally dozens of medical travel agencies, most of which are one- or two-person, part-time companies. <\/em><\/p>\n There is only one serious medical travel agency in the Thailand and Oceania market, which, by the way, is half the size of CosMediTour. The rest are very small companies that probably book an average of 1-2 patients a month (compare with our volume - over 300 patients in the same time frame).<\/em><\/p>\n In fact, we have very few competitors because, first of all, it is a very complex industry, in which it is quite difficult to succeed, and it requires significant investment to create its specialized plastic surgery centers of a certain level, managing teams of personnel who are obliged to create all conditions for clients who are preparing for invasive surgery in another country.<\/em><\/p>\n You mention a special CosMediTour customer service protocol. Tell us more about it.<\/strong><\/p>\n With 10 years of experience and thousands of clients. or patients, each year, we have developed a comprehensive set of service standards from the initial inquiry to the medical screening process, engaging a specific plastic surgeon and providing them with the necessary information, and then providing comprehensive medical care with full service, taking into account every little detail, throughout the entire journey to Thailand from arrival to departure. <\/em><\/p>\n Our client care protocols focus on achieving optimal aesthetic results that meet the standards of client safety and well-being that come first for us.<\/em><\/p>\n What are CosMediTour's comprehensive packages for clients? These are members of our team who communicate directly with each CosMediTour client who flies to Thailand. <\/em><\/p>\n They accompany the guest from picking him up at the airport to assisting with hotel check-in, during surgical consultations, and throughout his stay in Thailand. <\/em><\/p>\n Most of our Medical Concierges are certified nurses, which allows us to provide a much higher level of concierge service to our guests. Our account managers are in constant contact with the medical concierges as well as the entire administrative and medical teams.<\/em><\/p>\n What is required of a client in order to fly to Thailand for plastic surgery?<\/strong><\/p>\n The most important thing we expect from a client is to meet our minimum medical requirements regarding their health and information about any pre-existing medical conditions or medical history. <\/em><\/p>\n After the client has successfully completed the preliminary medical exam, our plastic surgeons evaluate the client based on the medical information and photos provided, in conjunction with the desired surgical procedures and aesthetic results.<\/em><\/p>\n When both parties decide which plastic surgery should be performed and by which surgeon, a specific date will be set at the plastic surgery center at one of our partner hospitals. <\/em><\/p>\n From that moment on, the client's special client manager will handle all the necessary administrative and medical documentation, he will be booked in one of our five-star hotels and all transfers and appointments will be arranged. The client will pay a deposit of 10% of the total estimated total amount for the surgery and accommodation, and the balance is payable approximately 1 month before the surgery.<\/em><\/p>\n Why is your initial plastic surgery request form so large?
