The sun-drenched subtropics of the Canary Islands, just off the coast of Africa, have an inviting year-round climate, thanks to their hot, dry trade winds that are softened by the coastal Gulf Stream. Beautiful beaches and unusual volcanic landscapes and parks are in front of you.<\/p>\n

Despite the relatively small size of this group of islands, four of Spain's seven largest nature reserves are in the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n

The Canary Islands have long been a haven for tourists from all over the world. The Canaries are famous for a well-developed and inexpensive vacation. This is a wonderful place for people who like to relax on the beach, in the bosom of wild nature. Tourists regularly buy cheap tickets from Moscow and other European countries.<\/p>\n

The Canary Islands are part of Spain, but are not in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a beautiful archipelago of seven volcanic islands that peek out of the Atlantic Ocean near the coast of North Africa, Morocco. Two of them are not very popular (Hierro and Gomera), and five of them are beautiful resorts: Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Palma.<\/p>\n

What to do in the Canary Islands?<\/b><\/p>\n

Beach life. As a rule, sand, endless sunshine and plenty of coastal fun. But still lacking in Spanish culture. And in some places - particularly Fuerteventura - nudists roam and scare wild animals.<\/p>\n

Windsurfing, kiteboarding, surfing. Most of the Canary Islands are ideal for these water sports, where there is almost always sunshine and wind. Fuerteventura hosts the annual windsurfing championship.<\/p>\n

Underwater fishing. A wonderful thing to do in the Canary Islands, especially when you go out into the Atlantic Ocean for this activity.<\/p>\n

Walking or mountain biking. The islands offer interesting, well-marked hiking trails of different lengths.<\/p>\n

Car Rental. Be careful with your choice of car rental and insurance. Driving off-road can be very dangerous for both you personally and the rental vehicle. It is not uncommon for agents to try to scam you for money for damages that have already occurred, expired insurance, or find a host of other tricks, while allegedly being guided by the law.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
