Evergreen forests and waterfalls can be seen from plateau heights. The national parks are extremely attractive places to explore wildlife in the most natural of settings. Malawi has nine national parks and reserves, six of which are especially recommended for tourists. <\/p>\n<p> The country's most famous site is Lake Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa, which stretches from the northern tip of the country to the south. Some of the rare tropical fish in the world are unique to this huge lake. It is also home to eagles and kingfishers. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/turisticheskie-strany-afriki-malavi-1.jpg\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"African tourist countries: Malawi\"\u0422\u0443\u0440\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0447\u0435\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0435\" title=\"African tourist countries: Malawi\" \/> Malawi is bordered to the north and northeast by Tanzania, to the south, east, and southwest by Mozambique, and to the west by Zambia. The three regions of the country offer different landscapes. The northern region is mountainous, with peaks reaching over 2,500 meters, plateaus, valleys, and dense forests. The central region is mostly a plateau, over 1,000 m high, with mountainous scenery. It is the main agricultural region of the country. The southern region is mostly lowlands, with the exception of the 2,100-meter high Zomba Plateau, which is south of Lake Malawi and the huge, isolated Mulanje Massif (3,000 m) in the southeast.
