Limita con Austria, B\u00e9lgica, Dinamarca, la Rep\u00fablica Checa, Luxemburgo, Francia, Polonia, Suiza y los Pa\u00edses Bajos.<\/p>\n<p> Las tierras septentrionales de Alemania est\u00e1n ba\u00f1adas por el Mar B\u00e1ltico y el Mar del Norte. Est\u00e1n conectadas entre s\u00ed por el Canal de Kiel, que es una ruta de transporte muy transitada. El Mar del Norte es relativamente bajo y llano, se inunda con las mareas altas y forma una zona fangosa. Las costas del mar B\u00e1ltico tambi\u00e9n son bastante bajas. M\u00e1s hacia el interior, las tierras bajas costeras se convierten en una llanura plana y amplia que se extiende por el norte de Alemania.<\/p>\n<p> En el centro de Alemania hay monta\u00f1as boscosas con estrechos desfiladeros y mesetas pedregosas. Los bosques cubren una superficie comparativamente peque\u00f1a, unos 25% de todo el pa\u00eds. En ellos predominan los \u00e1rboles de hoja caduca: roble, carpe, haya, aliso, tilo, fresno, arce.
