Since its founding, the city has seen a steady arrival of ships from various parts of the world, which has affected the way of life in Melbourne. As a result of this rapid arrival of foreigners, the city has large national communities and communities, each with "their" neighborhoods. These areas are compactly inhabited by members of a particular ethnic group and have "their" clubs, theaters, entertainment venues, stores, etc. Fortunately, there are no ethnic conflicts among Melburnians.

A bit of history. The city was founded in the first half of the 19th century as a small settlement near the Yarra River. The first settlers were the Irish and the English. Melbourne was a producer of agricultural products, and the city was also the center of sheep breeding. In 1851 the situation changed dramatically. The reason for this was the discovery of gold deposits near the city. After that, treasuries were established in Melbourne, the city prospered, railroads were built, and the gold rush led to an influx of immigrants. In the early twentieth century, Melbourne became one of the richest and most urbanized cities in the world. People from all over the world kept going there.
