Aruba: an amazing reason to go to the Caribbean

Аруба – государство, расположенное на одноимённом, самом западном, острове среди Антильского архипелага, в водах Карибского моря. Главное украшение острова – Национальный парк Арикок, занимающий огромный участок на северном берегу острова. На его территории находятся огромное количество исторических и природных достопримечательностей, такие как: Аравакские петроглифы, начертанные на стенах пещеры Фонтейн; голландские колонии-поселения в Масидури; здание старейшей на острове плантации в Принс-Велли, а также целые руины рудников золота в Мираламар. В общем, что говорить, многие только ради этого парка и выбирают отдых в Арубе. Склоны Хаманоты и Арикоки покрыты обширными зарослями растений, совершенно непривычных и необычных нам. Прекрасные ландшафты можно увидеть там. Помимо того, в парке Арикок, благодаря изолированности от материка, сохранилось бесчисленное сообщество разнообразных животных.

На самой окраине парка расположены другая достопримечательность Арубы – пещеры Гвадирикири, знаменитые парой подземных залов, куда сквозь кровлю в безоблачную погоду лучи солнца беспрепятственно прокладывают себе путь, создавая совершенно необыкновенную игру тени и света. В туннелях длинною более 30 метров живут несколько тысяч летучих мышей, там же когда-то находили себе тайное пристанище и пиратские банды.

А еще на окраине есть пещера “Туннель Любви”, известная ещё и под названием “Хулиба”. Своё название пещеры получили из-за формы одного из туннелей, напоминающего в своём сечении силуэт чьего-то сердца. Ещё одна достопримечательность – Калифорнийский маяк (18 век), близлежащие территории вокруг которого названы в честь затонувшего у этих берегов судна “Калифорния”. Данный район острова, славящийся красивыми дюнами и уютными песочными пляжами, а также дух захватывающими ландшафтами пустошами из кустарников, представляет собой изолированную территорию на севере-западе Арубы. Скалистые берега, маленькие коралловые рифы – всё это можно увидеть вблизи Калифорнийского маяка!

The mystery of Aruba is huge (the mass of some reaches several tons) stones of a strange shape folded in a circle with ancient messages. Here, the government of Aruba has organized a natural tourist zone: hiking trails have been laid that lead to the top of a stone hill, whose height is 165 meters and from where a panorama of the island state opens.

Another city is San Nicolás. Unlike the capital, the life and architecture of this city was significantly influenced by Britain. One of the attractions - Charlie Bar - gained fame in those days when the owner in the forties of the last century began to hang on the walls of the institution various finds found at the bottom of the sea. Since then, the bar has acquired the unofficial status of a museum, albeit rather modest in size.

It will be interesting for believers and not only to visit the Church of Christ, the Anglican Church of the Holy Cross, the Evangelical Church of St. Nicholas, the Church of St. Teresita, the 7th Day Adventist Church on Dr. Shepmanstraat. The city also has many old colorful houses.

On the hill of Sero Preto, northeast of San Nicolás, is the Grotto of Lourdes, carved directly into a monolith of stone in 1958. It was founded in honor of the case of the appearance of the Virgin in 1808 to a local resident. Now, on February 11 of each year, a procession follows from the church of St. Teresita towards the grotto to hold a solemn mass.

Tourists who come to rest in Aruba will certainly like the most beautiful sandy beaches, clear sea water, an abundance of small and beautiful coral reefs. The best beaches are Arashi Beach and Hadikurari Beach, which are located near the California Lighthouse. You should also pay attention to Druif Beach and Bukuti Beach (by right, these are the best shores of the Caribbean Sea and the whole world) and the quieter and calmer Roger Beach and Baby Beach in the South-East of the island in the Grey-Colorado area. The small Renaissance Island is also worth a visit, as is De Palm Island, where there are many coral reefs.

There are more than 40 sites on the island of Aruba that provide ideal conditions for diving and snorkeling - swimming with a snorkel. Visibility in the water sometimes reaches more than 30 meters. Aruba's richest marine life has long been included in all the guidebooks of the world.

Any tourist, except for swimming, can afford to dive under the water with the help of a special submarine, which is on every beach. Waves and strong winds create all the necessary conditions for kite and windsurfing.
