Children's recreation at Prague Zoo

If you decide to devote your summer vacation to Prague, be sure to take your children with you. The city has many different children's activities, among which ZooPraha Zoo is especially worth mentioning. A walk around it with children will not only give them a few hours of excitement, but also will fill their parents with positive emotions. This zoo is one of the world's top ten zoos because of the special conditions in which the animals live.

ZooPraha occupies a huge area - almost 60 hectares - and recently turned 80 years old. At the end of each year there is a careful count of the number of animals, their species, and also the animals that have been bred during the year.

The inhabitants of ZooPraha are kept not only in enclosed, but also in open enclosures. Today, there are three largest enclosed pavilions. Thus, "Indonesian Jungle" includes more than 100 species of animals, such as macaques, orangutans, kangaroos, gibbons, otters and foxes. This ellipse-shaped pavilion is built of glass, it is planted with tropical plants, it creates the illusion of a real jungle, it is equipped with a natural waterfall. "Africa up close" is a maze of South African animals such as water and land turtles, porcupines, squirrels and mongooses. "South American Pavilion" presents monkeys, wolves, baboons and other animals of the region. There are also many species of birds, reptiles, mammals, and fish in the zoo.

Visiting this establishment, you will not regret taking small children with you on vacation in Prague! In order not to make the little ones tired, you can rent a cane stroller or a wooden wheelbarrow if you have a passport. And for the convenience of adults there is a sightseeing train and a cable car. In the area of the Children's Zoo, children can ride the streetcar, the fee is only 10 CZK. There is an opportunity for children to communicate with pets, to feed them with food, bought in vending machines.

The area of ZooPraha is very large. In order not to get lost, you should use maps and signs. During the walk you will notice many playgrounds, changing tables, restaurants and cafes, souvenir shops, vending machines with food and drinks.

The Prague Zoo is open all year round, it is open every day, the opening hours differ depending on the month. So, if you come to Prague even in winter, you will find something to amuse your children.
