Lebanon is rich in antiquities, and from the "most" category. Byblos, for example, is the oldest inhabited city in Lebanon. Its massive houses and stone fortresses and paved streets are several thousand years old. And all this time the locals live here and receive famous guests. The famous white statue of Our Lady of Lebanon, Harissa, made of bronze and standing atop a mountain is another marvelous sight in Lebanon. The local population considers Harisa the patroness of the Lebanese as well as of all Christians. It is also attributed the ability to grant wishes. Therefore, around this amazing statue there are always a lot of people who come to pray and talk with the saint. If you wish, you can climb to the very top of this mountain by cable car, further - by spiral staircase. Most tourists from Harissa head to the caves of Jeita Grotto. This is a kind of natural museum, which displays all natural kinds of stalagmites and stalactites. After Jeita Grotto, no other caves in the world can be visited again.
