Journey to Cyprus

This island is, after Sardinia and Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. There are two mountain ranges that run through the island: the Kirinia Mountains in the north and the Troodos Mountains in the south. The excellent hot climate and clean mountain air make the area a very popular holiday destination, especially during the summer.

The nature of plain Cyprus is not particularly expressive, except on the western coast and around Cape Greco. The entire coastline is 780 kilometers long. There are many rocky cliffs and sandy coves on the island's shores.

По морю до Кипра вы можете добраться регулярными рейсами на частных судах. Порты расположены в Греции, Родосе, Египте и Израиле.

There are no restrictions on the import of credit cards, traveler's checks and other payment documents. You may bring into Cyprus up to 200 pieces of cigarettes or 50 cigars free of duty. You may also bring into Cyprus up to 250 grams of tobacco, 1 liter of spirits, wine up to 0,75 l., perfume up to 150 ml (or 300 ml of cologne).

If you bring souvenirs on a trip to Cyprus, you can bring them not more than 50 CYP. You cannot bring into Cyprus parrots, fruit and flowers, weapons, dangerous chemicals and drugs.

The cheapest mode of transport in Cyprus is buses. But intercity flights are rare here. On Sundays there are no flights at all. City buses run until 19:00, in summer - longer, with intervals of up to half an hour. Also, buying a trip to Cyprus, you can also move by cab. You can stop a cab on the street or call it from a hotel or restaurant. You can also rent a car. Please note that the traffic here is left-handed, and otherwise the traffic rules are the same as in Europe.

As for the climate in Cyprus, it is temperate, with a large number of sunny days. Summers are very hot, lasting from May to mid-October. The water is also very warm. As for food, it is considered the main cuisine of Greece. It uses a lot of seafood. Beaches on the island are municipal, the equipment on them (sun loungers and umbrellas) are usually paid. The best beaches here are in Ayia Napa.

In Cyprus, there are many hotels of different levels of stars. Their meals are either buffet or breakfast. Some hotels offer an "all inclusive" program.

Stores on the island are open from morning till night. Often from Cyprus vacationers bring back wines (including dessert wines) and liquors, lace, silver, and fur coats.
