Lake Lisi is located in an elevated area northwest of Tbilisi. You can easily get there by public transportation or by cab. A cab will cost you up to $5 from Freedom Square.

It's one of the quietest places in town. You can find many families there enjoying sunny summer weekends. There is a place for picnics or you can visit a small café nearby. Don't forget to bring a bicycle, rollerblades or a skateboard for your child.

Lisi Lake

The best thing about Lake Lisi, however, is that there is a racetrack within a 15-20 minute walk. You can enjoy a 1-hour horseback ride with a qualified trainer for about $30.


2. Mtatsminda

Mtatsminda is a hill that can be seen from almost anywhere in Tbilisi, and it is where the TV tower is located. There is a beautiful theme park with a variety of attractions and the best view of the city. You can take a bus from Freedom Square or take a cab for about $5, but the best option is to use the cable car.

There is a cable car on Chonkadze Street. You can buy a plastic card at the entrance and put some money on it. It serves as both a pass to the cable car and a key to almost all the attractions of the park. A round-trip ticket will cost less than $2. Children under 6 years old are free. One full day tour of the park for 2 adults and a child should not cost you more than $30.

Mtatsminda

There are many restaurants along the way. Don't forget to stop by the cafe on the first floor and try an assortment of Georgian dishes. There are some delicious sweets and, of course, Lagidze water, a local carbonated drink based on carbonated water and various natural syrups. Our favorite is the mixture of chocolate and cream.

3. Ethnographic Museum and Turtle Lake

Turtle Lake is located on the northern slope of Mtatsminda. There is no public transportation, so it is best to get to the end of Ilya Chavchavadze Avenue and then either climb the mountain, which is obviously not the easiest option, or take a cab for less than $2.

There are several small attractions and cafes. You can also take a walk around the lake. The length of the trail is 1 km.
Be sure to visit the ethnographic museum, which is on the way to the lake.

There are 14 houses there, brought from different regions of Georgia. You can hire a guide in Russian, English, or German for $10. This place is most beautiful in spring when the trees are in bloom. Since this is an outdoor tour, make sure you come on a warm day.

The admission fee is less than $1 for adults, children under 6 are free. Please note that business hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the place is closed on Mondays and holidays.

4. Botanical Garden

This is one of the most beautiful places in the city. Here you can find more than 3,500 species of plants. Many of them are unique and even included in the Red Book. Don't miss the tropical greenhouse, and make sure you are well prepared for a long walk.

Tbilisi Botanical Garden

Children can play in several playgrounds and learn more about the flora from brief explanatory texts available throughout the garden. The garden has two entrances, one at the bottom of Narikala and one from Lado Asatiani Street. Working hours are from 9:00 to 19:00. The entrance fee is similar to most local museums - adult tickets cost less than $2, school tickets are about 20 cents, and preschoolers get in free.

What could be better than a swimming pool in the hot summer in Tbilisi? A water park with several pools, slides, playgrounds for various water and beach sports. Gino Paradise is located near the so-called Tbilisi Sea (a large artificial water reservoir located between the Temka and Varketili districts) and is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00.

The family admission fee will cost you about $45, and it's worth every dollar you spend. Please note that the institution operates seasonally.


6. Roller Park

Roller Park is located in Deda Ena Park on the banks of the Mtkvari River. Young people from all over the city gather here to master roller skating, various boards and bicycles.

On weekends you and your kids can join a free workshop from experienced athletes. Here you can find Georgia's most interesting and diverse teenagers. You can also visit the cozy Book Corner cafe in the park or stroll through the flea market on Sundays.

It is one of the favorite places among teenagers. It offers amateur car racing and karting school, as well as a shooting gallery. There is also a 7D movie theater for those looking for a new experience. Parents are sure to have as much fun as their children.

However, if you want to spend a less extreme day, you can always play table tennis or billiards. The place is a 20-minute drive from Freedom Square, between Ljubljana and Beliashvili Streets. Public transportation is also available.

Our favorite activity here is go-karting, but note that it is only available for children over the age of 7.

We believe the best option is a mall called East Point. The place is on the left side of the highway to the airport.
