Bayok Sky in Bangkok is the tallest skyscraper, 309 meters high, with 88 floors, which houses a hotel, several restaurants and an observation deck open to tourists.

The tallest building in Thailand, built in 1997, and the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia is one of the main modern attractions of Bangkok, it can be seen from anywhere in the city.

How to get there

Bayok Sky is located in the heart of the Pratunam shopping district, close to numerous shopping malls and restaurants. If you are going to Bangkok for shopping, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Viewpoints

It is the observation decks that attract the largest number of tourists to the skyscraper. The most impressive views of Bangkok are from the observation areas of Bayok Sky: the closed Observation Desk on the 77th floor and the rotating open Sky Walk platform on the 4th floor, 250 meters above the ground.

On the lower deck, multimedia maps and telescopes, which work for a small fee, help identify what lies beneath your feet.

  • Stella Palace on Level 79 will appeal to lovers of Chinese cuisine; dinner here for one costs 826 baht (24$). You can enjoy Peking duck, Hong Kong suckling pig, seafood sachets and other exotic items.
  • Bangkok Balcony is Bayok Sky's most famous and popular establishment. The 81-level restaurant has earned tourist love for its wonderful view of the city from its open balcony. A table can be reserved either in one of the four air zones at 1280 baht (37$) or in the inner lounge at 720 baht (21$) .
  • Crystal Grill - The 82nd floor serves grilled food and local seafood. Cost about 700 baht (20$).

These prices do not include drinks, they are offered for a fee. For Baiyoke Sky Hotel guests there are discounts on meals in the building's restaurants.

On the 83rd floor of the building from 17:00 to 02:00 every day is a night entertainment institution Roof Top Bar.

The panoramic windows offer a romantic view of Bangkok at night. Admission costs 400 baht (11$).

Here, everything is streamlined, and the shortcomings are redeemed by the scenery of Bangkok. So many tourists limit themselves to visiting the viewpoints and dining in the cafes below. However, the restaurants of Bayok Sky are always crowded with tourists, so when you come to Bangkok, it is advisable to book a table in advance.

The four-star Baiyoke Sky Hotel is located on floors 18 through 74. The floors below are reserved for parking, stores and souvenir shops. The hotel offers a large selection of rooms of different categories, which differ from each other not only in amenities (rooms from Superior to Presidential Suites), but also in height.

The most economical rooms in the Standard Zone are from the 22nd to the 45th floor. Next in ascending order of price: Heaven Zone - from 46 to 63 floors, Space Zone - from 64 to 74 floors.

Each room has a TV with satellite channels, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities. The spacious bathroom is decorated with marble. For extra charge you can get the following privileges: massage, late check-out, transfer, internet in the room. Yes, the hotel internet is paid - 400 baht (11$) per day. However, when booking through the hotel website there are many promotions, rates and package deals, where you can get a room with included internet or a significant discount.

In addition, free shuttles run from the hotel to the nearest subway stations and aeroexpress stops, which must be reserved at the reception in advance. Thanks to its location and free shuttle service, Bayok is considered the best shopping hotel in Thailand's capital.

If you booked through the official website a day in advance, the Superior Room without breakfast can be rented for the standard price of 2,500 baht (74$)/night. Presidential Suite with 2 beds in Space-zone - for 8500 baht (250$)/night. If you buy the room locally, the lowest price for double occupancy is around 4,500 baht (1,32$)/night.

When booking rooms, it is worth bearing in mind that the hotel is not a new one. But if your goal is to stay in a room with a view of Bangkok, it is certainly worth it. Otherwise, it is better to stay in, say, a hotel chain Novotel, and in Baiyoke Sky to visit the observation deck.

There is also a fitness club with a spa, a golf course and an outdoor swimming pool with a terrace, a grocery store and a tour desk.
