Turkey, in my opinion, is the only country where you can have a good and inexpensive vacation. If you want to save money, it is better to go on vacation in May, but also not so many people. Turks are very hospitable people and treat well all tourists, whether Ukrainians, Russians or Germans.

Деньги лучше брать в долларах ( можно взять немного евро, для расчета в отеле). Если вы предпочитаете держать деньги на банковской карточке, то совет – не снимать деньги после закрытия банка, т.к. у турецких банкоматов есть такое отличие от наших, если вы долго проводите процесс снятия денег, то банкомат автоматически глотает карточку, чтобы не досталась другому. Получить ее можно только по предъявлению паспорта.

As you know, Turkey is famous for its cuisine. Of course, in decent hotels they have good food, but there is no such a wide variety of dishes as in the restaurants. If you decide to visit any restaurant, my advice is not to go to the restaurant on the first line from the coast, the prices are very high. Under any circumstances do not order mixed meals, you will get a piece of all the dishes, and the bill will be charged as for a full meal. Also, don't forget to tip the waiter.

Of course you will need to contact your family. The cheapest way to call from a payphone is with a special card, they come in 30, 50 and a hundred units (a hundred is enough for about 20 minutes, depending on where you call).

If you had to go by cab, first negotiate the amount with the cab driver (note that the price of gasoline in Turkey is up to two euros.

Now I will tell a few basic tips: first - tips are usually given at a rate of 5% to 15 % of the work performed, the second - the water tap is better not to drink, the third - to avoid poisoning do not try exotic dishes (the first time of stay), a mosque is better not to visit during prayer, if you want to be photographed with the local population, you must ask their permission (Islam prohibits depiction of humans), at the entrance to a private house is customary to remove shoes.

Don't forget about theft. It is most common at the airport. Also, if you decide to sightsee beware of being robbed. Street theft is often committed by teenagers, who are difficult to see and catch. But the crime rate is not as high as it seems. Gendarmes are constantly patrolling the streets.

You often hear about Russian girls being kidnapped and forcibly married off. This is all fiction, but it is not customary there to walk around in short clothes and be drunk at the same time. Turkish men may perceive this as an attempt to arrange an acquaintance. In case a Turkish man presses you persistently, threaten to call the police or shout, you are sure to be quickly heard by the gendarmes.
