Siam Niramit Show in Bangkok - Program, Cost and Location

Thousands of tourists come to Thailand every year. In order to entertain them, the Thais put on a variety of shows throughout the year. Perhaps the most popular is Siam Niramit, a show known throughout the world.

 What is Siam Niramit

This famous performance is regularly performed in Bangkok. A special building has even been built for this purpose in the city. It has a seating capacity of 2,000 and its stage is even listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest not only in Bangkok, but also in the world. The project costs Thais more than 40 million dollars. Notably, it involves not only people, but also animals, namely:

• House chickens;
• Elephants;
• Goats.

Siam Niramit takes about an hour and a half. The three acts of the performance run uninterrupted. So that the audience does not go hungry during this time, they are given the opportunity to eat in a small restaurant seating 1,000 people. Even gourmands will be pleased with the buffet and a wide variety of dishes presented there. For vegetarians there is also a table with suitable food.

But let's move on to the show itself. In the first part of the production, the actors portray two periods of the kingdom's history: the Sukhothai period and the Ayutthaya period. In order to understand the essence of what is happening on stage, it is necessary to be at least a little familiar with the events taking place in this period. But even ordinary tourists who are not familiar with history will be delighted by the play and the vivid costumes of the actors.

The second act is more religious. It depicts three parts of our world: hell, paradise, and a fairytale forest inhabited by all kinds of fabulous creatures. Finally, the last act focuses on Thai modernity. The theatrical show depicts the festivals and holidays of Thailand. Songkran, Loi Kratong, and other celebrations are depicted in fairy tale form.

An artificial lake is created on the big stage, and fairy-tale creatures fly in the air, created by the talented hands of the decorators. Special effects and decorations help make the show even more colorful.

During Siam Niramit the actors use more than 500 costumes. 

Before the show in Bangkok, in a village specially built for the event, you can also view a small performance that includes national songs and dances. The dancers can be filmed, unlike those participating in Siam Niramit.

And the village itself is definitely worth seeing. It presents a simple provincial life, which tourists in Bangkok and other big cities will not see. Every visitor to the kingdom will be curious to walk the narrow streets, see how Thais cook food, do their favorite things, play different musical instruments, etc.

Here you can rent a boat or even ride an elephant. In addition, in the village, as in many tourist places, there are many souvenir shops, where you can buy something to remember your journey. But, of course, the mini-performance and walk through the village does not compare with the colorful show Siam Niramit.
