Choosing a bicycle for a lady

More and more people are using bicycles. What is the difference between a "man's" bicycle and a "woman's" bicycle? The frame is the basis of any bicycle. If it is made in the form of a trapeze, that is, it has a transverse straight bar (the so-called "closed" frame), then it is more likely a bicycle for men. A more comfortable option for women is with an "open" frame, without a crossbar over which it is uncomfortable to throw your leg over.

Bicycles with an "open" frame are somewhat heavier because the tube walls are thickened to increase its rigidity. Such bicycles can be folded without taking much space in storage, or detachable, which allows you to easily transport them in the car. Of course, the reliability of design of such bicycles is somewhat lower than that of bicycles with "closed" frame. A bicycle with a frame made of steel tubes that have a circular cross-section will last a long time. Tubes that have a welded seam can deform under load.

Bicycle wheels have different diameters. The larger the diameter, the faster the ride, the better the cross-country ability on different roads, the smoother the ride. The advantage of small wheels is that it is easier to pedal, although the speed is lower. And such a bike is easier to match your height. Narrow or wide wheels? If you intend to ride only on asphalt - narrow, if only on off-road - wide. But it's better to choose universal wheels to ride on different roads. And another important detail: for women, choose a bicycle with a bent handlebar to adjust your riding position, and a wide saddle.
