Karaganda is located on the territory of Kazakhstan and is the administrative center of the region of the same name. Karaganda is considered to be one of the youngest cities of the republic. However, in a short period of time it has managed to become a major cultural, industrial and scientific center of the state.

Today there are coal mining enterprises, food industry, mechanical engineering and metal working are developing here. In terms of population, the city is among the most populous in Kazakhstan. Its ethnic composition is represented by Russians, Kazakhs, Ukrainians, Germans, Tatars, Belarusians, Poles, Uzbeks, and Azerbaijanis. The main religions here are Orthodox Christianity and Islam, so the city has both mosques and Orthodox churches. Various educational institutions abound in Karaganda. The regional capital also has dozens of cultural and historical monuments, museums and theaters. The city is famous for its pop-rock festival "Muzykar", which attracts thousands of music fans from different regions of the republic as well as from other countries.

В Ботаническом саду можно полюбоваться на красочные цветочные оранжереи. Для семейного же отдыха превосходным вариантом представляется здешний зоопарк.
