Tonga Islands

The island nation of Tonga, made up of 176 islands, offers travelers a rich variety of adventure and Pacific getaways. There are steep active volcanoes and low coral atolls. The pace of life in Tonga is calm and laid-back. Tourists can relax on one of the magnificent white sand beaches, go diving on the stunning coral reefs or watch the whales migrate back to their breeding grounds (June-November). Many islands of Tonga are uninhabited. They have rich flora and secluded coves that are very interesting to explore.

The main attractions of Tonga include the Royal Palace on the waterfront in Nuku'alofa, the Royal Tombs and the underground cave of stalactites and stalagmites.

Tonga is ruled by the last Kingdom in Polynesia. The history of the ruling royal family can be traced back over 1000 years.
