Alluring Turkey
Turkey is one of the most popular holiday countries. For those looking for new experiences, Turkey will be a real find.
Start your journey with ancient Istanbul. It is a city with a unique geographical position because it is located on two continents at the same time: Asia and Europe. Its two parts are connected by the Bosphorus Suspension Bridge. The European part of Istanbul is divided into old and new city by the Golden Horn Bay. At the intersection of the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus Strait and the Sea of Marmara is the Topkapi Palace, the center of power of the Ottoman Empire. It includes courtyards and buildings, the first of which includes a historical museum and an extraordinary garden. The galleries contain unique collections of silver and famous Chinese porcelain.
Most of the attractions are located in the old part of Istanbul. Be sure to visit the Hagia Sophia Church, which today serves as a museum. Later, minarets were added to the building and as a result the temple was turned into a mosque. All subsequent mosques were built in an exact copy of Hagia Sophia. One of the most beautiful mosques is the Blue mosque, the interior walls of which are lined with blue and white tiles. Then go for a boat trip along the Bosphorus where you will be surprised by the beauty of a huge number of palaces and museums.
Istanbul is famous as a great place for shopping. The city is full of stores, bazaars, markets, and all kinds of shops, and don't forget to haggle.
In addition to Istanbul, be sure to visit Eskishir, famous for the extraction of sepiolite, a mineral of oceanic origin used in medicine and cosmetics. Local craftsmen turn a piece of the mineral into a pipe, mouthpiece or statuette, which can be brought as a souvenir.
