Gatchina Palace Park

Gatchina Palace Park is considered the most mysterious and beautiful park in a series of suburban parks of St. Petersburg.

In its man-made landscapes, coniferous and deciduous massifs, park pavilions, lakes, ponds and rivers naturally merge to create unique landscapes. Many architects have worked here for many years and succeeded in transforming the northern nature. The park area is preserved by the museum staff in its intended form, and the restoration of the palace and landscape areas continues to this day.

On the shore of the unusually beautiful Silver Lake you can find the grotto "Echo" and the Octagonal Well.

For visitors of Gatchina Park there are also water excursions, during which you will be shown the pier Big Terrace, Chesmensky obelisk, Venus pavilion, located on the island of Love, and other attractions. From the water you can admire the amazing panorama of the White Lake islands.

To admire the masterpieces of landscape art, you must visit the Botanical Gardens with their Flowery Hill and ponds, see the Water and Forest Labyrinth, with their channels and bridges, paths and greenery.

Gatchina Park is called a mysterious park for a reason. For mystery lovers it will be very interesting to visit the Eagle Pavilion in the south of the park, the Amphitheater, in the forest part - Sylvia Park.

If you have time, take a long walk along the various paths and the old park will reveal many rare structures: the Farm Pavilion, the Bird House, the Cold Baths, the Forest Greenhouse. In the clearest spring on Topeka Island you can fill up with water and rest next to the sluice.
