1. The Gulai House
This exquisite restaurant serves the most famous Malay and Indian cuisines. The place is located in a quiet and cozy place, under the canopy of a tropical forest. Great taste and marvelous aroma of food, plus absolutely fabulous atmosphere - what else does a person need to spend a wonderful evening? For complete happiness, you'll find decent collectible wines on the menu at Gulay's House. The average price of culinary delights is from 50 to 90 MR (800-1400 rubles).
The signature dish is "Sup ketam bercerai" or crab soup, which the restaurant has been preparing for more than twenty years. Also here tourists are advised to try "Rending danging" (meat in a spicy sauce based on coconut milk) and "Cendol pulut" (a refreshing jelly dessert).

2. Yellow Beach Café
If you dream of tasting delicious Malaysian food in a romantic setting with a view of the sunset and the surf, this beach café is perfect. The interior is quite simple, but with an interesting "twist": visitors can dine sitting on regular chairs, in bean bag chairs, or on hanging benches.

The cafe offers excellent seafood snacks based on national recipes. But if you wish, the Yellow Beach Café offers traditional European dishes - steak, pizza, pasta. Or just have sandwiches.

3. Langkawi Fish Farm Restaurant
Considered the best restaurant in Langkawi, where the freshest seafood is prepared and served. The establishment is surrounded by a garden, and the dining terraces themselves seem to overhang the water. It's a great place for families.
Real gourmands have the opportunity to walk to the fishing village where the products are delivered and choose delicacies for a future feast. Want to feel like a real fisherman? For a small additional fee they will provide a boat and tackle for tourists to catch fish for dinner.
The price of the dishes starts from 30 Malay ringgit. Actually, Langkawi Fish Farm Restaurant has quite a varied menu, but local seafood is a must-try. The squid in egg batter is especially recommended for visitors.

4. The Cliff Restaurant and Bar

5. Pia's The Padi Restaurant
The institution is primarily recommended to fans of Indian cuisine. There are also traditional snacks from China, Thailand and Malaysia. Keep in mind that the portions are large - designed for two.
A very wide selection of vegetarian dishes, although the local beef stewed in coconut milk is considered the best in Langkawi. The food at Pia's The Padi is accompanied by wines or cocktails.

6. The Planter's - The Planter's Restaurant
The interior and architecture of the restaurant are reminiscent of the French colonial style with its abundance of light pouring in through the huge windows. It is worth adding that the prices at Donuts Terhangat are quite democratic, one donut (depending on the type) costs from 1 to 4 RM. The diner is popular among tourists and locals, so do not be surprised if you have to wait in line. But believe me, this is not a reason to deny yourself the pleasure!

8. Scarborough Fish & Chips - Fish & Chips Restaurant
Despite its "rustic" name, Fish & Chips is considered one of the best restaurants in Langkawi. Located near the beach at Tanjung Ru, this building has a marvelous view of the sea. You can dine in the lounge, under the roof, or at a table on the beach.
There are two types of food on offer: in addition to the Malay fish dishes, the menu offers a wide range of European snacks. It's not all about the fish, and although it's really good, you can order something more conventional if you want. For example, chicken nuggets or pizza.

Prices are moderate, from RM 5 per dish. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful - a great place for a quiet family or romantic dinner.

9. Fat Cupid - Fat Cupid Restaurant
A rather frivolous name, which is sometimes translated as "fat Cupid", although it really means "the vicissitudes of love. The restaurant doesn't exist on its own, but at the Langkawi on Pantai Tengah Hotel. Tables are placed in an environment of green plants, near the pool - in general, the place is very cozy. The breakfast and lunch menus vary. Fat Cupid offers many national dishes, but Chinese cuisine is also widely represented here.
The cost of breakfast/lunch starts at RM 19-20. What's interesting: ordering the same dish twice, you can be surprised by the culinary variations - in "Fat Cupid" chefs like to experiment, using interchangeable ingredients. Well, the local croissants, brekkie sandwiches and smoked salmon sandwiches are worth trying anyway!

10. Mangoes Bar and Grill
A 15-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport is the small village of Kuala Terian. It is here that the Mango Grill Bar is located at the local hotel. The establishment is owned by Australians. The atmosphere here is relaxed, everything is nice, soulful and without unnecessary formalities.
Suitable for noisy student groups as well as for couples with small children. A large selection of drinks and snacks (including halal) at a very reasonable price. Be sure to try their airy dessert Pavlova, lamb and other grilled dishes.

11. Kayu Puti - an upscale restaurant
The restaurant is located in the St Regis Hotel - overlooking the Andaman Sea. Everything is top-notch here, from the design of the room to the menu. The building was designed by Harvard graduate architect Bill Bensley. The magnificent open-air dining room and rooms with large French windows make it the most appropriate place to enjoy a good meal.
Kayu Puti's head chef, the world-famous Gaetan Biesuz, a star of the culinary arts, personally supervises the preparation and serving of the dishes. When you are here, the first thing you should order is Andaman tiger shrimp with red sauce, chili peppers and sweet potatoes - it's Kayu Puti's calling card.

12. Restoran Siti Fatimah Restaurant
The place is different from most Langkawi restaurants - here visitors are treated to a buffet-style meal. It's a great option to experience Malay cuisine in all its diversity. The portions are unlimited, the choice is great and the prices are affordable.
In general, it is not surprising that Restoran Siti Fatimah is popular with tourists and locals. The restaurant is stylized as a rustic "tavern" with a pronounced national flavor. Once in and out you find something new and noteworthy to eat here. Just don't forget to try their fried chicken (Ayam Goreng), as well as fish and seafood roasted on coals.

13. Fat Frog - Fat Frog Restaurant

There's seafood on every corner in Langkawi, but the Orkid Ria restaurant prides itself on serving the freshest freshly caught fish. Naturally, it's all local and seasonal.
Depending on what the nets bring to the fishermen today, the price of the prepared dishes also varies (the price tag can range from RM 30 to RM 200). Still, the main culinary hits of this place are tiger prawns with black pepper, crabs in chili sauce and lobsters baked with cheese.
The cozy atmosphere in the restaurant depends a lot on the interior - elements of Chinese decor dominate here, a lot of light and air.

15. Kapal Layar Restaurant
This restaurant is located right next to the Century Langkawi beach resort. It opened relatively recently - in 2015 - but the sign with the ship flying "on all sails" successfully attracts visitors.
The atmosphere is that of a cozy cabin in which it's nice to spend time with friends or family. Visitors should try the local squid and shrimp dishes - they are breaded in egg yolk and spices and then fried in oil.

16. Wonderland Food Store - Wonderland Diner
Here it is, the real Malay fast food! "Wonderland" guarantees the best opportunity to eat on the run while walking around the island all day long. The products are local, the recipes have obvious traces of Chinese culinary traditions.
Thanks to its wide range, excellent quality and low prices, Wonderland Food Store is considered a leader among fast food outlets in Langkawi. Steamed fish, tiger prawns, giant prawns and lobsters are on the menu. Nothing bad, just healthy and energetic!
