Italy. Milan. Fashion

Milan is the most un-Italian city in Italy. After all, this city has long been known to us as one of the capitals of the fashion world. Few people know that Milan today is the capital of business and industry, television, design and gastronomy.

The ancient name of the city is Mediolanum ("city in the middle of the plain"). It was founded by the Celts, the Romans traded in it, and the barbarian tribes devastated it. Spaniards, French, Austrians ruled, built and lived here. The mixture of different cultures created in Milan a unique mixture of architectural styles and monuments of culture and art.

One of the symbols of the city - the Gothic Duomo Cathedral, is called "a poem in marble." Its spiers and statues are remembered immediately and for a long time.

Not far from the cathedral is the theater "La Scala" - a landmark place for lovers of opera and classical music. Opposite the theater is the oldest passage in the world with modern boutiques - the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery. This place is often called the "living room" of the city.

Milan is the thirteenth port of Italy and is connected to the Po River by shipping channels. Here is one of the largest wholesale markets in the country. A visit to the fish market leaves a lasting impression.

Even if there were not a single attraction in Milan, it would be worth visiting, because it is not just a fashion capital and shopping center, it is a city where fashion walks the streets several times a year.

It hosts four major shows a year: February and September for womenswear, and January and June for menswear. These days, not only the fashion shows themselves are held, but also various events dedicated to them (exhibitions, music festivals and gastronomic competitions).

Italy. Milan. Fashion The city seems to be completely taken over by fashion and trendy characters. Famous designers with whom you can have coffee in the same cafe, crowds of photographers, models, stylish characters and huge screens broadcasting catwalk shows create an atmosphere of presence and belonging to the global fashion industry.

Milan fashion weeks are more than 300 shows, these are collections of leading fashion houses and fashion designers (Prada, Gucci, Etro, Cavalli, Versace, etc.). Milan Fashion Week is a multi-day and colorful show that leaves no one indifferent.

If you want to visit Italy and Milan, then you should remember that during this fashion week, the prices for accommodation and food increase dramatically, the tour and tickets should be booked in advance.
