Paradise Park was designed in 2012, but has already become the pearl of Koh Samui, thanks to the panoramic view of Koh Samui, the developed infrastructure: a bar, a cafe, a playground for children, a swimming pool, a zoo... In a nutshell, this is a place where Feel the spirit of Koh Samui.

On the territory of over 80 square kilometers you can see various exotic animals and birds: colorful pigeons, parrots, rare white peacocks, Thai roosters, deer, goats, sheep, ostriches, rabbits. The living conditions of animals in the park are close to the natural habitat, which does not limit their free movement around the territory. At the same time, they live in different zones, which are interconnected by picturesque walking routes.

Friendly employees will meet you right at the entrance to the park on Koh Samui, they will give you free bird food, most of which, of course, you will have to buy - 20 baht ($0.5), which you can immediately feed to small parrots. They will constantly put different animals and birds on your shoulder while you are taking pictures, they will tell you about the habits and character traits of each of the inhabitants of Paradise Park. The main attraction of the park is colored pigeons: bright orange, blue, yellow, scarlet, crimson and even green. There is a theory that their color is not achieved in a very humane way: paints of various colors are injected into pigeon eggs with a syringe.

All pigeons are tame and can be fed, they are not at all afraid of people, and they eat from hands. You can also feed goats, deer, chat with parrots, watch newborn chicks, hedgehogs, stroke an iguana, play with monkeys.

For many, rubber trees will seem like a curiosity on Koh Samui. Buckets tied to their trunks are dripped with liquid rubber, which is then used to make latex mattresses, pillows, and other useful items. Although the territory of the park is relatively small, the paths with steps there form real labyrinths in the mountains surrounding Paradise Park.

The pool located on the territory is located on the top of the mountain: there is an illusion that you are on the border between heaven and earth. Near the pool there is also a shower, changing cabins, comfortable sunbeds at the edge of the mountain. You can also take towels there, as a deposit for 200 baht ($5.5). The cost of using the pool is included in the ticket price.

Mini-houses are made from old fishing boats, and those who wish can stay overnight in one of these makeshift hotels. On the territory of Paradise Park there is a wonderful restaurant where visitors can taste Thai and European cuisine, admiring the magnificent views of the mountains and the bay.

How to get there

You need to drive along the ring road from Lamai beach. Opposite the temple, where the mummified monarch rests, you will see a right turn sign "to Paradise Park 7 km." After turning, go straight to the fork, at the fork - again to the right. Numerous signs are located along the entire route, so you will always be aware of how much you still have to drive to the park. The road is mountainous, some of its sections resemble an exciting attraction, especially if it rained the day before.

It is better to go to Paradise Park by car, you can ride a bike, but there are places that are frankly difficult and if the bike is weak, it can simply stall. Opening hours and cost

Paradise Park on Koh Samui is open to visitors daily from 8:00 to 18:00. Tickets are sold until 17:00, but you can watch the sunset by the zoo's pool, the staff don't mind. There is a map at the entrance to the park.

Ticket price for an adult - 400 baht ($ 13), for a child - 300 baht ($10), up to 4 years old - admission is free. With a park transfer, a ticket will cost you 1100 baht ($30), with lunch - 1300 baht ($36). For a child (height up to 130 cm) - 900 ($25) and 1100 baht ($30), respectively. You will be given a time to visit: 8:30 - 13:30, or 12:30 - 17:00.

Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for long walks.

This time is enough for you to see everything, sit in a restaurant and swim in the pool. It is better to arrive early in the morning, as there are usually many tourists during the day and, as a rule, it is very hot. If you try, then on the way back you can still visit the "magic garden", the mummy of a monk, ride elephants - almost all these attractions of Koh Samui are located nearby.
