Thai Embassies and Consulates - addresses, phone numbers and opening hours

Diplomatic relations between Thailand and the CIS countries were established immediately after the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, when 12 independent states (not counting the three Baltic republics, which were not included in the CIS) appeared on the vast territory of Eurasia.

It was not possible to establish a consulate or, even more so, an embassy in each of them for reasons of expediency. The most populous CIS countries are compactly located in the European part: this made it possible to create diplomatic representations designed to serve the residents of several regions.

The main diplomatic mission of any country is the Embassy, which is headed by an Ambassador.

Next in the hierarchy are Consulates, which are headed by Consuls and report to the regional Embassy. Visa issues and other work with citizens and legal entities are the responsibility of the Consulates. At the Embassy there is also a consular service, which deals with the processing of documents and solves the current issues of citizens of their country in the territory of a foreign country.
