How to choose a sanatorium

For decades, there has been a boom in overseas recreation among our compatriots. But here's the paradox: many of our former countrymen, living in a foreign land, come to their homeland to improve their health. What is the reason? Despite the underdeveloped service of the domestic sanatoriums, compared to the foreign ones the cost of Russian services is many times cheaper. Therefore, having come to Russia, the resorts for the same amount they would have paid for one procedure in Europe, at home they can receive several recreational activities at once. To be sure of this, you should simply visit, for example, the official website of the health resort and look at the cost of services, comparing them with foreign. There you can also see how wide the range of procedures is available in Russia: hirudotherapy, therapeutic mud, hippotherapy, mineral waters and many others, including European treatment technologies.

How to choose the best sanatorium?

To answer this question, we first need to clarify what is a sanatorium and to whom is it indicated? A sanatorium should be considered a place where a pleasant rest will necessarily be combined with procedures that ensure the recovery of individual body systems and the whole body: diet, physical activity, therapeutic procedures. Therefore the first selection criterion must be either the disease to be fought or the goal the patient wants to achieve in his recovery: to lose weight, quit smoking, relieve stress, etc.

The second issue that should concern the future client of the sanatorium is the development of therapeutic base and the level of qualification of medical staff. By therapeutic base we mean the whole complex of therapeutic means: mud, mineral waters, climatic procedures, salt baths, electro-procedures and many others. It would be nice to know what additional services the sanatorium provides during the holiday (excursions, trips to the theater, etc.).

It is also necessary to know the peculiarities of the area in which the institution is located (in the mountains, in the city, whether the sea is close). For example, if the road to the sanatorium turns out to be a ropeway, people with disabilities will obviously be puzzled about how to get to and then get out of there.

In conclusion, it is necessary to study in detail the daily routine established in the institution, so that then there was no conflict during the holidays. And, of course, the climatic characteristics of the region, because for some people prefer windy coolness, and for some - dry and hot air.
