Ghost World

Many tourists love the extreme. They are not so much attracted to comfort, as to the extreme. They strive to see everything unusual. For a trip that will leave good and unusual impressions on the heart and memory should go to Namibia. Such a trip will not leave bad memories.

The route is fairly new to travel. But it was not created for nothing, as it is very popular among thrill-seekers.

There is a Skeleton Coast on earth. This mysterious place has many different names, but the essence does not change. This is the place where the confrontation of about five hundred kilometers of ocean with the desert begins. Such a confrontation can only be admired. The Skeleton Coast is located between two rivers: the Ugab and the Kunene.

Such a park is cut up and down by mountain ranges, canyons, cliffs, plains, and dunes. Two different climates collide here: cold breezes and fog and the hot climate of the Namib Desert. Because of this collision, climatic changes occur, and dramatically, in the area. The contrast in temperature is what characterizes the collision.

Such terrible weather conditions, frequent fogs and storms disrupt navigation, which is why this area is known to sailors as a cursed one. That's why the shore got its name. The fact is that there are hundreds of wrecked ships scattered across it. The picture is eerie, because in addition to sunken and thrown on the shore ships, remains and skeletons of the same here can be found and human remains. The wrecked ship did not survive, so there was no way for people to get out of here. They died of hunger and heat on the shores of the desert.

The most famous shipwreck to this day remains the wreck of the ship Edward Bolen. The huge steamship was left ashore eaten up by sand. After two hundred years on shore, the sand enveloped the ship for one and a half kilometers. So the picture becomes even more tragic. Because the steamship really looks like a ship sailing in the desert.

And in addition to ships, you can also watch the colony of sea lions. There are about a million of them there. Such a colony eats about five hundred tons of freshly caught fish in a day.

After such a vivid journey, you can make a little stop in Quidas. There is a lot to see there as well. Tourists are introduced to the old cave paintings, sandstones and lava piles.

To the north, you can listen to the singing of the dunes. The sound spreads so strongly that any touch on the sand causes certain sounds.

Ghost World Then you can also see the local tribes. Tourists love it, so the guide will take you straight to the Purros. Large palm trees and elephants will impress you with their beauty, and the locals with their customs.

The customs of the natives are unique. They wear rings around their necks and cover their bodies with a mixture of fat and soot. Also, they still honor traditions and live in huts. Life has taught them how to cope with the climate, so they do well here. The locals will teach you how to cope with the alternating heat and cold. Will treat interesting and unusual cuisine. Will gladly welcome anyone who wants to stay in their hut. Responsiveness and kindness helped them to cope with life in such conditions.

The last pier on the route is a camp set up on the Kunene River. This place also has its own charms. In addition to souvenirs, you can buy non-traditional clothing and much more. Just a trip will get acquainted with the same lovers of extreme.

No one can be left indifferent to this route. Especially thrill-seekers. Moonlight falling on the desert, skeletons of ships and cave paintings will remain in the memory of travelers for a long time.
