Popular waterfalls in Phuket

The locals in Phuket are used to escape the heat not on the sweltering shores of the beach, but to go to the eastern part of the island territory to visit the waterfalls. Tourists arriving in the tropical paradise are also fond of excursions to the most significant and impressive natural oases.

It must be said that on the shores of eastern Phuket you can really spend time with the benefit of visiting the parks and getting on the winding paths to see the impressive waterfalls.

The most notable of these are: Bang Pae (Bang Pe), Ton Sai (Ton Sai) and Kathu Waterfall (Kathu). The first two natural phenomena are located in Khao Phra Thaeo National Park (Khao Phra Thaeo National Park), which in its significance refers to an exotic attraction with numerous tropical plants, unique animals and birds.

Bang Pe Natural Waterfall

The best time to enjoy the beauty of this steep 10-meter giant is during the rainy season, because if you come here between December and May, not much remains of its former grandeur. So plan your trip for other months. Going to the bottom of the falls, you should wear comfortable shoes. The paths and ledges here are quite slippery. Also, when hiking all day, be sure to arm yourself with a good mosquito repellent.

Bang Pe Waterfall is part of a special project to rehabilitate Gibbons, who are kept here in spacious cages. Access to them by humans is restricted, especially if you have food in your hands. A sign at the entrance informs you that wild animals must not be fed.

Tourists are encouraged to approach the waterfall by a trail that is located right in the jungle. There are concrete fortifications, of course, but you will encounter fallen trees along the way, under which you will need to be physically fit.

It is located on the western part of Khao Pra Teo Park and is called Ton Sai. It is a less luxurious waterfall in size, but there is something different to see there.

The trail winds its way through rural landscapes, spacious plantations of local farmers, and pristine green forests, where the tranquil environment makes it easy to really relax in the lap of nature. You can, of course, hike to the falls, but only if you take a guide all the way. But it's worth it, because the guide will tell you about the wonderful fauna and flora along the way.
