Pattaya Tower - Park: entertainment and attractions

The most famous place in Pattaya is the hotel and entertainment complex Pattaya Park. It was built in 1985. Starting from the 1990s, it was so "occupied" by immigrants from the former USSR (mostly Russians) that it seemed that this was not Thailand, but Sochi. All signs are in Russian, and even on the market price tags, understandable "pieces" and "kg" are indicated.

Today, this entire Russian world is being squeezed by the Chinese. So, if you want to have time to see the cult place of Russian tourists in Pattaya in the form in which it has existed for 20 years, then the Pattaya tower and park should be visited. The tower and the territory adjacent to it constitute a single tourist and entertainment complex, which includes:

Hotel

This is the largest hotel in Pattaya. Consists of:

• 25-storey building-tower;
• 14-storey second building;
• several bungalow-type houses with 1 and 2 bedrooms.

At the same time the hotel can accommodate more than 700 guests. It should be noted that the hotel is old, the rooms, even the most luxurious ones with windows overlooking the sea, are the most ordinary. Somewhere shabby, somewhere it creaks.

CRT TVs are still in many rooms. But each room has a balcony, air conditioning, and a bathroom. There is a dining room on the first floor. You can order food directly to your room.

Restaurants

Three restaurants. They are located in a tower growing from a hotel building, on the 52nd, 53rd, 54th floors. All restaurants offer a panoramic view of the sea and the whole of Pattaya from a height of approximately 170 m. The sites slowly rotate around their axis. There are not very many visitors, and this is the second positive aspect of these restaurants.

In general, here the same dilapidation as in the hotel. Plus, the glass on the outside, probably, has not been washed since the opening. Food prices are quite exorbitant: buffet - $15 per person. An additional bonus to lunch is a free slide ride.

Observation deck and slide attraction

There is an observation deck on the 55th floor. Since the tower is the highest place in Pattaya, all sightseeing city tours are brought here. Entrance to the site - 200 baht ($5) - even for hotel guests. Upstairs, as a bonus, those who wish can treat themselves to a free soft drink.

From the observation deck you can go down not by elevator, but by cable car: individually, fastened to a cable, or with a group, located in the cabin.

Entertainment is included in a comprehensive tour to the observation deck and costs 400 baht. The only problem is the same dilapidation: judging by the appearance, the equipment has not changed since the opening, everything creaks, and, look, it will fall apart. However, people ride and there have been no accidents.

Amusement park and water park

Despite the fact that the attractions are located on the territory of the hotel, they perform the function of citywide entertainment - the same that our city parks carry. Anyone can visit them for 100 baht. Therefore, whole Thai families come here on weekends.

Thais are happy to have fun, ride rides, water slides, swim in the pool.

The set of attractions is standard:

• steep hills;
• not very steep hills;
• free fall;
• monorail locomotive;
• boat;
• carousels.

In the water park - slides, several pools, umbrellas and sun loungers. This is a good place to relax with your family. It is often too crowded: the hotel is large, plus locals also come.

Advantages and disadvantages

It all depends on what you want from your vacation and what you think is a good vacation. If you have never traveled to the sea further than Sochi or the Crimea, and you like relaxing in high-rise Soviet-era sanatoriums surrounded by people who speak your language, then a hotel in the tower will be a good option for accommodation in Pattaya.

You will find yourself not only in a familiar atmosphere, but you will also live for two weeks in a room with a sea view for $600 for two. It is unlikely that it will be possible to rent civilized housing cheaper.

This is the best option if you are not going to spend your entire holiday at the hotel, you plan to travel and spend a lot of time in the city. Or if you are relaxing with your family: you will always have entertainment for children at your side.

If you don’t miss your compatriots and the atmosphere of Soviet hotels, are ready to pay more and want to get a more refined service, then the hotel in the Pattaya tower is not for you.
