Emerald Pool and Blue Lake in Krabi

Krabi province is known primarily for its islands and healing hot springs - Ron Waterfall. However, the emerald pool and the blue lake are also worth a visit, located a few kilometers from the most famous attractions of Krabi.

The purity of the water and the color of the lakes can make you question your own eyesight. The lakes are located in Khao Pra Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. The territory of the park is a true temple of untouched wildlife: mangrove forests, in some places replaced by jungle, numerous rivers and lakes formed by numerous mineral springs. The park is literally riddled with ecological trails that you want to walk for hours.

The forest park is located on the border of two provinces: Krabi and Trang. Although it is not officially a national park, it surpasses many national parks in the whole of southern Thailand with its many advantages. The park is not an area protected by the state only because there are numerous plantations nearby.

Blue Lake

This unique natural object is located in the center of the park. At the bottom of it are mineral rocks that give the purest water a bright blue color, the unnaturalness of which is literally astonishing. Looking at the photos, you might get the impression that they have been edited, because the color seems so unreal.

But in reality, it looks even better. On wooden platforms near the blue lake, in the shade of tropical bushes, you can sit for a long time, looking at its surface. Another unique property of the blue lake is the fact that if you clap your hands, bubbles rise from the bottom of the reservoir. Local residents find it difficult to explain the nature of such a mysterious phenomenon.

It is forbidden to swim in the blue lake - its ecological system is very fragile. It is the unique bacteria that live in it that create this extraordinary color.

Its water enriched with minerals, with all its purity and transparency has a rich emerald color. This unique object you just have to see with their own eyes. There are no mountains around the lake, but water from geothermal springs flows from the depths of the jungle along the surface of the plain.
