Together with the conquistadors, vines exported from France reached the African continent. Since 1679 the wine history of South Africa begins to develop, and today the country already occupies a leading position in the world in terms of the quality of produced wines.

In South Africa, there is even a special excursion and tourist route for tourists interested in the history of winemaking. It passes through incredibly picturesque terrain - mountains, valleys and the Indian Ocean coast

The first town on the wine route is Stellenbosch. It is a cozy provincial town with narrow streets, surrounded by vineyards. Then the way goes through private farms (each of them is necessarily decorated with the coat of arms of the Wine Route!) and leads to the town of Franschoek. This town is home to the famous Huguenot Museum. But the real pearl of the route is the town of Paarl (especially since its name translates as "pearl").

Be sure to stop by for the annual fair and wine festival. It's unlikely that anywhere else in the world will bring together more of the world's celebrity crowd. After all, all the "rich and famous" appreciate South African wine!
